Intuit Sync Manager – Discontinued on March 1, 2016

Intuit will be discontinuing the Intuit Sync Manager as of March 1, 2016. What does this mean to QuickBooks desktop users including Pro, Premier, and Enterprise editions? If you are using a QuickBooks add-on or third party application that relies on Intuit Sync Manager, the synch will no longer work.

What should you do? First, determine if any of your QuickBooks add-ons or third party applications rely on the Intuit Sync Manager to synch your QuickBooks company file to the application. These applications will most likely be web based applications.

Second, if you have applications that are using Intuit Sync Manager, contact the application developer to determine if their application is compatible with the QuickBooks Web Connector. If the application is compatible with the QuickBooks Web Connector, then follow the developer’s recommendations on transitioning from the Intuit Sync Manager to the QuickBooks Web Connector. If the application is not compatible with the QuickBooks Web Connector, you will need to find an alternative application that performs the same required function.

Need help navigating this change? The expert consultants at Marc Mintz and Associates can help you navigate through this change. And, if necessary, we can help you select an alternative application in the event that your QuickBooks add-on or third party application will no longer be functional after the discontinuation of the Intuit Sync Manager.
